@@vishalr6535 96 was a collapse rather then a surrender, not defending his 96 performance but walking in at 110-6 chasing 250 is not easy. Still the way india bowled it was a total surrender, its more evident after watching how pakistan bowled in the final.
The worst part is that we don't seem to have any idea how to use and preserve a fast bowler. And the worst advise a fast bowler gets here is concentrate on your line and length, no need to bowl fast. As if those are mutually exclusive.
This was my last cricket match. I am going to retire from all formats of cricket as a cricket fan. 😔 best era was the Dhoni era.

I remember Rohit laughing when he was asked at a press con if Kohli should be rested and same with Kohli when asked Rohit should be rested and the great kl Rahul was so offended that he said 'ap kya chahte ho main hi baith jaun'. Kyu nai baith skte bhaia agar form nai hai, these players think that they are bigger than the team and thats the backing board has given them. No player should feel he is irreplaceable, I think these top 3 has were the main cause of poor performance in this cup except kohlis one inning against Pak.

In the 2019 WC, Kohli scored 443 runs at 55 avg with 94 strike rate, he was easily the best Indian batter after Rohit.
Both of them have been fearless cricketers, Sehwag was a blaster opener but lets not forget how deadly Ajay Jadeja was against dangerous spin bowling of that era like Sharne Warne, Saqlain, Murali etc.

Bhai Ajay Jadeja & Viru both are telling truth but the team management of India is not efficient to choose right player for ICC tournaments.
If you look at the stats of ind vs aus 2007 sf match you can understand the importance of yuvraj's 70(30)innings . That day at one stage india were down to 41 for 2 in 8 overs, then yuvraj played magnificent knock and india posted 183 runs. But today just after fall of one wicket we started to play safe game. In 2007 our bowlers showed great intent against the mighty Aussies but today there was no intent at all. In 2007 our players average age was 23.6 years now it's more than 30. In t20 cricket you should play fearless cricket with little bit of maturity.

People always credit MS Dhoni for world cups but it was always fearless batting from Yuvraj, Gambhir, Sehwag, Sachin which got us through difficult stages in world cups or even Zaheer bowling

I truly want to thank Cricbuzz and GK and specially Viru and Ajay sir for highlighting things that no other cricket panel would dare touch upon. Rohit Sharma’s absolute timid approach in this WC has been a major let down. I don’t know if the overly defensive approach in the powerplay overs has something to do with Dravid sir but Pakistan & England both have shown being defensive is not how you can win important T20 matches. I think it’s time the Ishan Kishan’s and the Sanju Samson’s and Kuldeep Yadav’s be given a real chance in tournaments rather than keep carrying the burden of legacy and experience. Except Virat Kohli we don’t really need that much of experience specially when playing outside India. If we keep using IPL alone as the yardstick then we’re going to keep struggle in overseas conditions like this. It’s time for a serious debate and a lot of changes.

KL Rahul is a shameless creature along with Kannadigga favoritism by coach...and stupid captain.
Ajay Jadeja is bang on the point. They kept defending the selected players who were past the prime for T20 cricket and in the end they even dropped them e.g. DK and Chahal. Umran Malik was not even considered even after Bumrah was injured. Bhuvaneshwar was backed and any laymen can say that with that pace and no swing he will atleast go for 10-12 runs a over. Ashwin hardly took any wickets and was backed all the way because he can score 10-15 runs. In the end this team was only able beat Bangladesh on last ball thriller, Zimbabwe and Virat beating Pakistan. Even South Africa beat India. Sack the damn selectors, looks like the only select players which team management want instead of selecting youngsters on merit. Rohit Sharma is not the same captain under pressure and when he is not scoring runs, looks unfit and must take a call on international T20 cricket.

This was very much on the cards. It was only matter of time until they play a reasonably good team. SA thrashed them in the league game, PAK game was a narrow escape. With IPL, the cricketers in India has become bigger than the game itself. They don't have hunger to win tournaments for India anymore. They just try to play well in IPL so that franchises can retain their IPL contracts.
One of the biggest differences between our IPL teams is that we have amazing, fearless pure batsmen or bowlers or all arounders. That's why GT, Mumbai or CSK win. And England also are like that. That's why they can go fearlessly. India needs to only back such players and you can't have more than 4 pure players in the team. Hence you need atleast 6 proper allrounders in the team and a captain who can use this as a car: a tool that can be replaced if it doesn't deliver i.e. unemotional efficiency.
No matter how big players were before or after there was still no skipper able to win big games or WC in the last three decades. It was just under the Dhoni era when India won all the ICC trophy

The saddest part is after the T20 world Cup debacle in 2021, Indian team said they realized what they were doing wrong, they were not playing fearless cricket and they will start doing that now, they did that for a year leading up to the world Cup but today again if you saw, right from ball 1 they were under pressure, were looking the opposite of fearless, this pitch was a 180+ par score pitch and then in bowling again, the moment England hit us for 2 boundaries, the body language collapsed. All in all we were back to where we were a year ago.

They are not addressing the actual problem, same as the last world cup. The team has gone into too much professionalism with no hunger whatsoever. In big matches, you might have so many skills, but your will or hunger gives that extra x-factor to win matches. Everybody is satisfied with what they have achieved in their life already. It is just one more professional day or bad day in office for them. Sports is a manifestation of will, hard-work, hunger along with fear to lose such that life depends on that.

It was the approach in Fielding and bowling that made India lose. Even if India would have scored 200, Eng would have chased it. ENGLAND scored 175 with 24 balls remaining. After powerplay India lost hope. The Indian team was Fielding and bowling like England is chasing 250+.
the team india had selected esply the bowling, barring arshdeep rest are all frankly quite mediocre. they are bowling test match lines in a T20. its good england gave the likes of bhuvi, ashwin and shami a good reality check.

We should not be harsh on players for their performance. This match's foundation was laid on the day of team selection. Why there was no 3rd opener? It was assumed that Rohit and Rahul will be in red hot form, which they weren't, atleast against top bowling sides. Instead of Hooda, they could have selected Samson as 3rd opener and wicket keeper. Also why certain players keep getting wild card entry into the team, just 3-4 months before world cup. Vijay Shankar, Rahul Chahar, Varun Charakarvarthy, Deepak Hooda also Ashwin got last minute chance. If you want to play them give them a year to settle and check their performance. Shami was not even considered as backup for Bumrah. They kept playing Avesh.

Harsha is the biggest culprit. At least we know that Ravi and Shastri have always been biased coz they were ex-players and held some position in BCCI. Harsha Bhogle will sugar-coat his tweets and find fault in the stars for India's performances. But will never blame the team. Sick of listening to him now.

When India won T20 WC in 2007 Rohit was in 20s and he is still playing in his 35s. India need to provide chance to its young bench players in T20 international. Bring new openers, bring new young bowlers..Keep those old folks in Test Cricket and some ODIs. Average age of all T20 team's players are around 26 years whereas India 32 years...they are out of date..

When I was a kid I would never miss indian opening pair as Virender sehwag came to bat, I would just pray that he just stays on the crease. cause from ball 0 till the time he stayed on the crease it was fearless batting. the sad part is BCCI has not found any such fearless opening batsman after his retirement. and the wait still continues........

I still remember during the peak Australian bowling days, he smashed them without an after thought while everyone else was trying to get singles..
Get another coach for t20; make hardik captain n nurture a young team; Dravid is very defensive as a coach , not aggressive

@@yashmishra4409 he also looks very tentative when initially comes to bat... doesn't take risk to hit big as sky and hardik does...HE scored 50 of 40 balls and india managed 66/2 in thr first 10 overs...whereas hales and butler scored almost 80 a piece in 40 balls which they played ....India played old fashioned cricket looking to stabilize first they were not daring enough against spinners too
